The Adamello Brenta Nature Park is located in the Rhaetian Alps, the Italian sector of south-central Alps. Located in the western Trentino between Giudicarie, Val di Non and Val di Sole, covers two broad areas of morphologically distinct group of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello-Presanella granite massif. The two mountain ranges are separated by Rendena Valley, crossed by the river Sarca.
Environment
The environment of the park is typical of the Alpine Arc south-central, mainly characterized by coniferous forests that cover the slopes of the mountains up to 1800m altitude. Above this altitude forests, which occupy a third of the park, give way to alpine meadows and rocky vegetation that goes far beyond 2500m. The Park territory is extremely complex and diversified forests of fir, beech and larch, quilted meadows of flowers, meadows, pastures, streams, bogs and inaccessible cliffs. At high altitudes and spectacular landscapes are unique, dominated by the strong geological and geomorphological diversity of the two mountain ranges.
